REMINDER: City’s Soetwater Resort goes cashless

The City of Cape Town’s Coastal Management Branch would like to notify residents that the Soetwater Coastal Resort will be going cashless at the resort gate from 1 November 2025. Day visitor entrance fees range from R7 for children to R22 for adults.

‘We have made the decision to go cashless at the entry gate of the Soetwater Resort in the interest of the safety and security of our staff and visitors, who will no longer need to handle cash on the coastal resort premises. This is in line with many other biodiversity tourism options (such as Cape Point) in Cape Town and around the world. Having said this, I encourage all of our residents to visit our Soetwater Resort and the beautiful Soetwater beach in Kommetjie. I am sure many residents from other parts of the City may still not even be aware of the resort’s beautiful setting. These spaces offer a refreshing break from the hustle of our city lives and are right on your doorstep. Residents can visit the City’s website for more information on the opening hours and locations of all the City managed coastal resorts and nature reserves,’ said the City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.

All digital cards (credit and debit cards) will be accepted. Visitors will also be able to make use of contactless payments by using the tap-to-pay option.
